In His Own Words
Flying Fred wrote this poem for his father.
He remembers his father as days go by
He remembers his father in times long ago
He remembers his father
whose soul never died
Though dying, a part of life
that cannot be denied
Memories replace emptiness at night
Clichés that were spoken in days long ago
Brings happiness and laughter that replaces life’s plight
He remembers his father
all times of each day
Rewards fill the night
with visions of light
As he remembers his father
who was bigger than life.
Written by Flying Fred Curry for his father Bull
From the Acknowledgments
Flying Fred could not have developed his wrestling style without the Bull, the Sheik, Fritz Von Erich, and the so many others of that era he was lucky enough to become involved in.
Fred, handwritten
Built by his son.
Every photo, every word, every breath. Real. An archive for the family Fred gave us, and the fans he flew for.
