CURRY-LOTHARIO VS VALENTINE-STASIAK!

BIG TIME WRESTLING · December 5, 1972

Valentine & Stasiak Team To Face Returning 'Cat & Jose!

Do you remember last summer when an ired and fired up Bearcat Wright wouldn't return to Texas until Crusher Stasiak agreed to answer his challenge?

And do you remember when the American champion Johnny Valentine said on TV that his foe of the night, Jose Lothario, wasn't good enough to be a challenger?

Well, the men mentioned above will soon all be in our Sportatorium ring and fireworks are expected!

Th© big Bearcat is returning to team with the crowd favorite Lothario and they will be more than ready to face ring rivals Valentine and Stasiak. Jose has won the Texas title from Stasiak, so there is another reason for a hot match!

In fact, while Valentine was low-rating Lothario as a challenger in that TV interview he said he would risk the belt even though the contract didn't call for a title match. But when Lothario won that match Valentine said he wouldn't award him the belt as the conract specifically said "non title".

So, Jose is hopping mad and could have made a strong claim against Valentine's belt and title.

Wright is ready for both his foes and states he has very little regard for either as a sportsman but is ready for a double barrelled roughouse attack from the Valentine-Stasiak salvo of brutal grappling.

. "I've got the right man in there with me in Lothario. We can take these two. Won't be easy but we will take them," promised the "Cat"!

NOTICE . . . Bearcat Wright was injured last Saturday night and will be replaced tonight by Fred Curry. The information came at press time, too late to change all of program copy..

LORD DUNCUM FACES THOMPSON!

BIG TIME WRESTLING · December 5, 1972

Lubich & Lord Duncum Reccy!

Manager Bronko Lubich is yelling that he and Lord Duncum were robbed last week when they lost a semifinal to Fred Curry by a referee's disqualification ruling.

Lubich says the ruling was entirely unjustified. Lubich, who rates himself as an expert of every phase of wrestling, says he makes himself available at ringside to give the referee needed advice.

And last week, Lubich said he would never had concurred with the disqualification call. In fact if anyone should have been disqualified it should have been Curry stated the loud Lubich.

Tommy Thompson didn't really get started in his bout last Tuesday. Before the bell had rung, his foe, the Missouri Mauler, jumped him and haad him groggy as the bell did ring. Thompson says he may not have looked good in that quick bout last week but that he hopes to make up for it tonight when he faces Duncum!

YOUNG BULL CURRY BACK vs. HART

BIG TIME WRESTLING · January 7, 1969

Hart Says Bull Sr. Sent A Boy To Do A Man's Job! Curry Ready!

Gary Hart is a talkative person and his number one topic is Gary Hart. The controversial manager-grappler is very boastful about tonight's main event wherein he meets returning Young Bull Curry.

Hart maintains that Bull Sr. knew he couldn't possibly beat Hart. So, Hart concludes, that the father sent the son to do what he couldn't.

Or as Hart puts it "He sent a boy to do a man's job" and says that if. the papa Bull couldn't beat him then the little son couldn't!

Such reasoning is typical of Hart who is consistent. However he may not realize that young Bull has grown into one of the roughest, toughest, strongest scientific stars in the ring. And he has that Curry love of action.

And if you think Bull is tough on his foes then imagine Bull Jr's predicament. "I'll bet Hart soundly. I don't want to tell dad that I lost to Gary Hart in my first Dallas bout of the year" said young Bull.

Bull Jr. Out For Big Wins!!

BIG TIME WRESTLING · March 25, 1969

Baron Raschke may be champion of all Europe but having someone from the Curry wrestling family after you is something else again!

Bull, Jr. was injured in a bout against Raschke in Ft. Worth a few weeks ago. The next night Curry was at ringside in Dallas challenging Raschke for a rematch.

Bull mended quickly and got that rematch with Raschke in Ft. Worth last week and came out winner. He didn't injure Raschke but that wasn't his prime intention.

Papa Bull is prouder than ever.

FRED CURRY

BIG TIME WRESTLING · March 25, 1969

Tonight Young Bull battles huge Krusher Kowalski and this is another tough one even for someone named Curry!

Many fans keep hoping that Bull Curry senior will trek to Texas to join his son. But at the moment Bull is headlining midwest main events, so not soon for sure.

FRITZ VON ERICH ENTERS THE BATTLE FOR $2,000.00

The RASSLER · Monday, November 6, 1972

A type of match that many wrestlers don't like, a 10-man Rassle Royal, will be the feature here tonight at the North Side Coliseum. It's a match in which it's easy to suffer severe injuries, but the $2,000 prize money to the victor is an offer the wrestlers can't resist.

And look at who the contestants are: Iron Claw Master Fritz Von Erich, Fred Curry, Crusher Stasiak, Tiger Conway, Chris Colt, Ron Dupree, The Alaskan, Frank Monte, Jose Lothario and newcomer Leo Seitz.

The only way a wrestler can be eliminated in this match is by submission or by being thrown over the top rope onto the floor.

Naturally with all these big wrestlers inside the ring, anything could happen. And since Fritz threw his name in the hat, it really opened the possibilities . . . especially considering what Crusher Stasiak has been saying about him lately.

Stasiak laughed at Fritz last week for not being able to take away the World's Heavyweight Belt from Dory Funk Jr. in two straight tries.

"It just shows you fans what I've been saying all along," said Stasiak, "that Fritz Von Erich never deserved a shot at the title in the first place."

Stasiak said if it had been him who had been given the chance, that he would now be wearing the World's belt.

Stasiak again denied that he

would rather Dory Funk Jr. have the belt than Fritz.

"Everyone's saying that I want Dory Funk to keep the belt be-

cause he's easier to beat than Von Erich," said Stasiak. "That's a bunch of bull. Just because I helped Funk back inside the ring in Fort Worth in his match against Fritz doesn't mean I wanted him to keep the belt.

"I just got excited, I did what any fan would have done."

Stasiak went on to say, though, that tonight he was going to retire Von Erich from wrestling.

"I'm going to pick him up and drop him over the rope onto the floor . . . on his head. It's time he gave up wrestling."

Of course, this is just one feud that could boil over here tonight. The two Alaskans, Mike York and Frank Monte, are entered and you can bet they'll be helping each other against all corners.

Flying Fred Curry has been sensational since his arrival in Fort Worth and it's a known fact that his publicity has irked some of the other wrestlers . . . like Chris Colt, the motorcycle freak from California.

Lothario, the new Texas Heavyweight Champion, certainly will have his eyes out for Stasiak, too, since he recently beat Crusher in San Antonio for the title.

Don't forget Tiger Conway, the Negro from Houston who's feared head butt can win any match. Then there's mod dresser Ron Dupree, who'll do whatever he can to win, and newcomer Leo Seitz.

Seitz would like nothing better than to make his debut in this area successful by pocketing the $2,000 first prize money.

However, Stasiak already has guaranteed he would win the money.

'That's right, I guarantee it,' said Crusher.

But, what does that mean? Does it mean if he loses, he pay another $2,000 to the winner. He didn't say. He just said he'd guarantee a victory. But, the odds are 10-1 that he won't win.

"Ha," laughed Stasiak. "The odds would be that high if there were real wrestlers inside the ring. After I throw out Von Erich first, it'll be easy."

Lothario Wants Duncum Anytime And Anywhere

The RASSLER · Monday, November 6, 1972

Dirty Duncum (or Lord Robert) declared last week as to how little he thought of Mexican wrestlers and as a result he has Jose Lothario demanding a match anytime, anywhere.

Duncum, on a television interview last week at North Side Coliseum, said that Mexican wrestlers all had a big yellow streak down their backs.

"I've never met one who would stand up to a real man, said Duncum. "And that goes for this Jose Lothario. In fact, he may be the worst one of them all.

Lothario stormed out of the dressing room and said he'd meet Duncum then and there.

They did get into a scuffle, but Lubich ran out of the dressing room and helped Duncum. The blond-headed Duncum was battering away at Jose, who was being held by Lubich, until Fred Curry came running out to break them up.

"I've said I would get anyone who touched my manager," said Duncum. "Lothario is on the list and so is that Fred Curry."

Three Big Prelims Are Set For The Card Here Tonite

The RASSLER · Monday, November 6, 1972

There will be three big preliminary matches here tonight at the North Side Coliseum on the card that features the big 10-man Rassle Royal.

One of the big ones is new Texas Heavyweight champ Jose Lothario against The Alaskan, Mike York.

York would like to show he's worthy of a championship bout by beating the rugged Lothario.

Then Flying Fred Curry takes on York's cousin Frank Monte in another match and the motorcyle rider and chain-swinger Chris Colt meets newcomer Leo Seitz.

The prelims should heat up tempers for the big match later when they all join in the 10-man Royal to battle for the $2,000 first prize.

Colt, however, says it'll only be a 9-man Royal.

"This Seitz won't be able to participate after I rack him up in our bout," said Chris.

Each are one-fall, 15-minute affairs.

Crusher Stasiak, Lord Duncum & Lubich Win Bout

The RASSLER · Monday, November 6, 1972

The team of Crusher Stasiak, Bobby Duncum and Bronco Lubich defeated Jose Lothario, Bearcat Wright and Fred Curry in last Monday night's main event.

In other matches, Billy Red Lyons downed The Alaskan; Frank Monte whipped Ron Dupree; Wright and Stasiak battled to a draw, and Chris Colt beat Bennie Matta.

Danny Plechas and Dick Raines were the official referees for all of the exciting matches.
